Obituary of Lyla M. Plaga

Plaga, Lyla May Saginaw, Michigan Mrs. Plaga, age 100, beloved mother, grandmother, grea- grandmother, and great-great grandmother passed away on Sunday April 19, 2020. Lyla was born in Augusta, Montana on April 11, 1920 to the late Thomas and Lela (Oldham) Snapp. She married Harold H. Plaga on December 21, 1940. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1987. Lyla was a member of Swan Valley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sports, especially bowling and golfing. She loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Plaga is survived by her three sons, two daughters and their spouses, Harold and Noreen Plaga of Elgin, Illinois, Carol Plaga and James Bell of Saginaw, Sharon and Ron Campbell of Saginaw, Ronald Plaga and Kathy Kemerer of Saginaw and Gary Plaga of Tucson, Arizona. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Jill (Scott) Walker, Michael (Sue) Krupnek, Ryan (Katy) Plaga, Corey (Kyle Ringa, Stacey (Ryan) Koszut , Kristen Plaga, and grandson in law Craig Petersmark; 16 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Benjamin and Lauren Petersmark, Elias and Miriam Walker, Abigail, Kaitlyn, Kaylee, Jackson, Landon, and Dakota Plaga, Ethan Carter Ringa, Makayla Ringa, Tyler (Brittany) Krupnek, Charlie and Samuel Koszut; great-great granddaughters, Ivy Krupnek and Willow Krupnek; and several nieces and nephews. Lyla was preceded in death by her daughter Sue Crowe, granddaughter, Kelly Petersmark, daughter in law Laura Plaga; her six brothers and one sister, Ora, Albert, Luther, William, Lee and Everett Snapp and Freida Summers. Honoring Mrs. Plaga's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Swan Valley United Methodist Church or the University of Michigan Research of Dermatomyositis in honor of Kelly Petersmark.
