Obituary of Justin L. Mechem

Justin Lee Mechem, age 30, of Midland, died unexpectedly on April 6, 2020 in a fatal car accident. Justin was born on March 4, 1990 to Tina Mechem of Midland and John Mechem Sr. of Ithaca, and they survive him. Justin was a graduate of Merrill High School, and worked in the tree service industry for many years. He loved the outdoors, and loved to ride quads and snowmobiles, but his passion was mud bogs. Justin loved all types of music, which would change with his mood, and he loved to eat pizza whenever he could. His proudest moments were when his children were born, Mylee age 8 and Gavin age 5. He was a beloved father and adored son. Justin leaves behind his best friend and mother of his children, Kayleen Toner; mother, Tina Mechem (Rick Smith) of Midland; brothers, John and Jacob Mechem of Midland; life time best friend, Michael Kroll; grandmothers, Connie Mull of Hemlock and Monica Nicolia of Florida; and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Douglas Mull and Harry Mechem. A memorial service will be held on a later date in the chapel at Memorial Gardens of Midland.
