Obituary of Clara Marie Morse
Morse, Clara Marie
Birch Run, MI
Clara Marie Morse of Birch Run, age 74, passed away peacefully at home with her children on June 2, 2020 after a short illness.
Clara was born on October 27, 1945 in Taymouth Twp. to the late John and Genevieve (Malecki) Owens of Birch Run/Taymouth. She was the 5th of 6 children and was spoiled by her grandfather. She was a life-long resident of Birch Run. She married Jerry Lee Morse on August 6, 1966 in Birch Run, MI. They were married for 53 years.
She was a hairdresser prior to marriage and continued to do so at home for family and friends. She was a wife, mother and homemaker in the same residence all her married life. She was an excellent crochet artist with yarn and thread. She made intricate doilies, Christmas ornaments and blankets for gifts for many family members and friends. She loved her time at the cabin and beach where it was a quiet and peaceful place to get away from it all. Since it was a year-round cabin, winter was nice as well, in front of the fireplace. She was also known as the Rummy card game shark in her youth, just ask Judy and Johanna.
Shopping garage sales and at Goodwill for special treasures was a favorite past time of hers. She searched for items for all of her grandchildren throughout the years for them to enjoy at home and at the cabin. She loved to do crafts and painting with her grandchildren, along with playing card and board games.
Surviving are her children, Stacey (Louis) Geroux, Kelly Morse-Reed, Adam Morse, and up north brother Josh (Nicole) Weed; nine grandchildren, Uriah, Ileona, Xavier, Paige, Ezra, Isley, and Zoya Geroux, Donald Jerry Reed and Richard Emerson Reed.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jerry Lee Morse, in January of this year; her parents; sister, Margaret Mikulay; brother, Patrick Owens; and many cherished aunts and uncles.
