Obituary of James "Jim" Wayne Geiersbach
James "Jim" Wayne Geiersbach passed away at home after a brief illness on Friday, July 10, 2020. His loving daughter and son were by his side as he passed on peacefully. In heaven, Jim has joined his parents, Cliff & Verlyn (Bonnie) Geiersbach; his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Mike Gardner.
Jim was born July 6, 1944 in Bay City, MI. He lived for several years in Cheboygan, MI and then later settled back home, here in Bay City to raise his family. Jim was blessed with 2 devoted children, a daughter, Diana Lindauer (Chad) and son, Brian Geiersbach. Two of the most absolute joys of his life were his grandsons, Tobin & Jace Lindauer, who became the twinkle of their grandpa's eye. Jim's heart was filled with so much love for them all. Jim was thankful to still have Laura, the mother of his children, as a cherished part of his life. Jim is also survived by his brother, Robert (Cathy) Geiersbach; many nieces & nephews; and caring friends, Terry & Karen Coberley.
Jim was retired from his job as a bus driver for the Bay City Schools, where he took great pride in protecting, and safely delivering, the children to school each day. He was an accomplished pool player and enjoyed a good "run" on the table. In his younger years, he loved to camp with his family and spend time hunting & fishing. One of his favorite hobbies was playing cards with his "bus-barn friends"... Jim was always ready to jump into a hand.
Special thanks to those that helped take such wonderful care of Jim in his final days: Nate Volk, Sherry Lindauer, and Laura Geiersbach; and the tender-hearted caregivers from Intelicare, Hannah, Crystal, & Lisa.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, July 24, 2020 at Elm Lawn Cemetery, 300 Ridge Rd., Bay City, MI 48708. To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com Arrangements handled by Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
