Obituary of Lawrence "Larry" Robert Farr

Farr, Lawrence Robert "Larry" Montrose, Michigan Larry, age 77, passed away Saturday, July 18, 202. He was born in Detroit Michigan on February 5, 1943 to the late Robert and Betty (Alcott) Farr. He retired from the GM V-8 Engine plant in 1993 after 30 years of service. After retirement he enjoyed many things, especially his grandchildren & great-grandchildren. He had a passion for wood working, reading the paper, walking his dog, and talking with the neighbors. He loved animals, feeding the birds, and planting flowers in his yard. Larry loved and appreciated many people in his life, including his friends at the gym where he worked out, and friends Maggie & Mark Quaderer who treated him like family. He loved going to Don's in Birch Run weekly to buy lottery tickets. Larry and Fran enjoyed taking day trips together, hunting for bargains at garage sales and thrift stores, and long drives to Indiana to visit family. He always had a great story to tell and he loved to laugh, especially at himself. Larry is survived by his spouse of 58 years, Frances "Fran" Farr; 4 daughters, Sharon (John) Heiliger of Goshen, IN, Mary Jane (Rob) Robbins of Burt, MI, Kris Bloom of Elkhart, IN, and Carol (Tim) Hall of Ligonier, IN. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Denise, Jennifer, Jacob, Jordan, Rachelle, Alaina & Megan; 8 great-grandchildren, Nolan, Oliver, Audrey, Emma, Sebastian, Fiona, Michael & Harper; his siblings, Judy Nickolson & Bob Farr. Larry was preceded in death by his sister Robin Lawrence, great-grandson, Rory Vliek; and honorary grandson, John Mauro. A memorial celebration of Larry's life will be planned in the future.
