Obituary of Rolland L. Hockey
Rolland L. Hockey, age 82, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on September 3, 2020. He was born January 24, 1938 in Flint MI to the late Agnes and Otto Hockey. Ron married Kathylene T. Massaro, August 11, 1962, and they spent 53 wonderful years together until she passed away in 2015. It brings the family great joy to think of them together again. Ron was a U.S Army Veteran, serving as a gunner and sharp shooter in the Korean War. He was also a journeyman welder, retiring from G.M. in 1996. He also worked at U.S. Graphite for a couple of years. Ron loved to ride motorcycles all his life, belonging to the GWRRA, Harley Owners Group, and American Legion post #22 Riders in Saginaw. He also enjoyed watching the Lions, NASCAR, bowling, fishing, and having a cold beer!
He is survived by a daughter, Dawn (Hockey) Dilts; son, Mark Hockey; two grandchildren, Jessica Dilts and Nick Hockey; sisters, Emma Lou Pnacek, Sharon Russel, and LeeAnn Schrieber. He was predeceased by his brother, Wesely Hockey and his sister, Harriet Pelfrey.
A Military Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM, Monday, September 14, 2020, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Michigan. To sign online guestbook, visit www.creamationsocietymidmi.com.
