Obituary of Faye M. Lake

Faye Lake (Scherzer) of Saginaw, MI, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side, at the age of 78. Faye was born on April 13, 1942, to the late Howard and Verneda Scherzer (Kade). Faye graduated from Michigan Lutheran Seminary and attended college in Minnesota. She resided in Hemlock and Saginaw for most of her life. Faye worked at Michigan Bell Telephone and retired with more than 30 years of service. Faye was one who always helped others. She was an avid volunteer at Covenant Medical Center for 28 years. She was a lifelong member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hemlock, MI. where she volunteered for the Lutheran Girl Pioneers. Faye really treasured the simple things in life; tending to her gardens, camping with family, and Sunday brunches with her dear friends. She will truly be missed by all of us. Faye is survived by her son Mitchell Lake (Marcy), granddaughter Jessica Lake (Jacob), grandson Ryan (Danielle) Lake, great grandchildren Mallory, Peyton, Easton, Ryder, one on the way, Nora Faye, brother Gary (Barb) Scherzer and very dear friend Dominic Buggia. Faye was predeceased by her father, Howard Scherzer and mother, Verneda Scherzer. Following Faye's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday, September 27, 2020, at of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2290 Pretzer Rd. in Hemlock from 2 pm to 4 pm. Doors will open at 1:30 pm with the memorial service at 2 pm and visitation to follow with a light luncheon. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hemlock.
