Obituary of Anna Mae Veal

Veal, Anna Mae Midland, MI Anna Mae Veal passed away at her home in Midland, Michigan on October 5, 2020 at age 82. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 4, 1938 to Anne and Frank Geiselhofer and was daughter to Anne and Edwin Rybczyk. She moved to Midland in 2002 to be near her daughter Edith and her grandchildren Rebecca, Emily, and Aaron. Anna Mae volunteered in the libraries of Midland Public Schools for many years and was a long-time member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Midland. She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, games and vacations with her family, shows at the Midland Center for the Arts, and watching her grandchildren grow-up. She also loved cruising the Caribbean with her sisters Judy and Carol in recent years. Anna Mae was treasured by her family and friends, who remember her as a loving mother and a wonderful grandmother and sister with a generous heart and a kind, giving soul. Her grandchildren remember her wit and wry sense of humor, and her nieces and nephews remember her as someone who made them feel loved as if they were her own children. Anna Mae was one of those rare people who was soft-spoken, but whose presence was palpable and comforting to those around her. Words cannot express how much that presence will be missed. She is survived by her daughter Edith (Scott) Hogan, her grandchildren Rebecca Aldaire, Emily Clark, and Aaron Clark, her brothers Frank (Eloise) Geiselhofer and Stephen (Nan) Geiselhofer, her sisters Judy O'Sullivan and Carol Goodwin, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Father Robert Howe will conduct a service at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Midland, MI at 1:00 pm on October 15, 2020 for immediate family and friends of the departed. A graveside service will immediately follow at Calvary Catholic Cemeteries at 2743 E. Bombay Road in Midland, MI.
