Obituary of Mary Louise Maxson
Mary Louise (Mary Lou) Maxson, age 83, of Bay City, MI passed away after a lengthy illness at Colonnades Assisted Living on Wednesday, November 4, 2020. Mary Lou was born on August 26, 1937, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Anthony R. Hochlander and Clara F. Schelling.
Mary Lou met Raymond (Ray) Maxson, Jr. while he was stationed in St. Louis. They wed on September 27, 1958, and have lived in Bay City since. Mary Lou and Ray enjoyed many years of camping with their children before purchasing a vacation home in Tucson, AZ, where they traveled to every winter for 15 years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many.
Surviving are her five children, Mark Maxson of Bay City, Cheryl (Reza) Saffarian of Saginaw, Susan Maxson (Tim Kaping) of Tucson, AZ, Julie Maxson (Robert Arrington) of Tucson, AZ, Mike (Amy) Maxson of Kalamazoo; 7 grandchildren, Jason (Courtney) Maxson of Bay City, Alan (Kailey) Maxson of Los Angeles, CA, Katie (Dave) Martindale of Bay City, Dr. Mathew (Katie Tucker) Saffarian of East Lansing, Marzieh (Carlo Hinchliff) Saffarian of San Diego, CA, John Maxson and Michael Luke Maxson of Kalamazoo; four great-grandchildren, Marley Maxson, Maxson Martindale, Maisie Martindale, and Kara Saffarian; and sister-in-law Charlotte Maxson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Clara Hochlander, her husband Raymond Maxson, her brother Anthony Hochlander, her brother-in-law Gerald Maxson, and her grandson Anthony Reza Saffarian.
Mary Lou’s family wishes to thank the staff at the Colonnades Assisted living facility for all of their loving care for the past two years.
