Obituary of Alice Ann Hollister

Alice Ann Hollister, age 81, entered into Eternal Life with her Savior Jesus Christ in heaven, peacefully on Tuesday, November 17, 2020. Alice was born February 27, 1939 in Owosso, Michigan to Robert and Viola Austin (Fairchild). Alice and Clayton were united in marriage on July 13, 1957. Alice was a committed follower of Jesus Christ, and was devoted to her husband, her children, and their families, and delighted in spending time with them. Alice was a member of and served the Lord at Christian Faith Church in Montrose, Michigan for many years. In later years Alice worked at Elizabeth’s assisted living home in Clio, MI. Alice enjoyed doing many crafts and sharing them with family and friends. She loved to crochet baby dresses and afghans, and sewed many outfits for foster children. Alice and her husband were foster parents for many years. Alice was a wonderful cook and baker, making the best Apple Nut Cake and sharing it with the Flint Fire Department. Alice is survived by her children, Clayton A. (Michelle) Hollister, James (Suzanne) Hollister, David Hollister, Cathy (Paul) Young, and Annette (Patrick) Sheets; sister, Darwina Austin; brother, Robert “Steve” D.S. (Darla) Austin; grandchildren, Rhonda (Scott) Reimers, Ryan (Jessica) Williams, Andrew Williams, James Hollister II, Holli (James) Harms, Lorayah Hollister, Kelsey Hollister, Jensine Hollister, Luke Sheets, Gracie Sheets, and Gabe Sheets; great- grandchildren, Kevin Radigan, Kyle Radigan, Nash Williams, Rowen Williams. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton E. Hollister; parents, Robert D. Austin and Viola (Fairchild) Austin; sisters, Janice Austin, Shirley Crow, and June Austin. Cremation has taken place. There will be a private service at Christian Faith Church in Montrose Michigan for IMMEDIATE FAMILY ONLY, however, a graveside service will be announced in the spring of 2021. In lieu of flowers a fund has been set up for her expenses, please contact Cathy Young, 14046 Neff Rd, Clio MI 48420. The family would like to extend special appreciation to all of the staff at Lapeer Area Medical Facility (Suncrest) who gave wonderful, loving care to our Mother during this difficult time. We greatly appreciate all the care and love you have given. A special thank you to Melissa Steepe, Melanie Hawe, and Jaimie Burhans of Suncrest, for treating our mother like their own.
