Obituary of Doris Marie North

North, Doris M. Auburn, Michigan Doris M. North gained her wings November 19, 2020. Age 81. Doris was born May 13, 1939 in Bentley, Michigan to Martin W. and Mildred (LaFave) Westenfeld and lived in this area all of her life. On June 28, 1958, she married Ronald A. North, he preceeds her. Doris was a devoted and loving mother. She worked third shift as a nurse for 35 years, so she could spend more time taking care of her family. Doris loved holidays and family get-togethers. She would spend hours baking, cooking, and preparing for company. A person never left her house hungry. Doris was very proud of her family and was so excited to become “Grandma” to her three grandsons. As a mother and grandmother, she never missed a dance recital, band concert, holiday program, or sporting event. Doris was Brent’s biggest cheerleader and was known as “Grandma D” to many of his teammates. Taking care of "her boys" and watching over them filled her with joy. Doris was known for her warm welcoming smile and to know her was to love her. Doris is survived by her three children, MaryAnn and her husband Robert Krzyminski of Auburn, Mark North of Taylor, MI, and Marie Giffin of Midland; three grandsons, Brent Pobocik, Robert Jr. and John Krzyminski; her fur-grandson, Tinx; and her beloved companion, Gigi. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Westenfeld; special nieces, Cindy and Ava Bishop; friends, Lois Krzak and Nora Hickerson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
