Patricia “Salazar” Phelps, passed on to her peaceful rest on Thursday December 10, 2020 in Alma, Michigan. Patricia was born on July 21, 1941 in a cherry orchard in Hart, MI to the late Antonio and Josephine “Cedillo” Salazar; she was the 12th of 14 children born to the family. Her family resided in Elwell, MI where she attended Mallory Country School then went on to graduate from Alma High School. Patricia married her sweetheart Jimmy Dale Phelps on August 18, 1962 and they built their life together in Riverdale, MI. She and her husband were baptized at the Mt. Pleasant Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1984, where they both remained loyal members for the rest of their lives. Known as Patti, Aunt Pat, Little Grama, and Mom, to those her loved her most, she was always eager to give a hug and share Jesus with anyone. She lived her life simply and kindly, always serving others before herself. Patricia is missed by her son, Timothy (Brenda) Phelps of Riverdale, MI, granddaughter Nicole Phelps, grandson Jed (Kaley) Phelps, of Alma, MI, and her two great-grandsons. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years Jimmy Dale, her parents, five sisters, and four brothers. Also mourning her loss are her brothers Paul of Jackson, MI, John of Elwell, MI, Robert (Karen) of Grand Rapids, MI, Tom Gross of Alma, MI and her sisters Frances Davis of Riverdale, MI, Laura Salazar of Long Beach, CA, Sandra (Bill) Brantley of Riverdale, MI, and Linda (Larry) Holmes of Vestaburg, MI; as well as countless nieces, nephews, and friends.
