Obituary of Francis "Vince" Vincent Schmidt Jr.

Schmidt Jr. Francis V. "Vince" Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, age 84 passed away on Monday December 14th 2020 at St. Francis Home. He was born in Saginaw, MI on June 29th 1936 to the late Francis Vincent Schmidt Sr and Ida E. (Demijohn) Schmidt. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School class of 1954. Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology from St Thomas Aquinas College. He worked for St Mary's Hospital as a Medical Technologist for 30 years before retiring in 1998. He was a member of St Casimir Catholic Church and The Legion of Mary He enjoyed: Spending time with his family, nature, fishing, hiking, playing chess, and watching sports on TV. He is survived by his children Francis Vincent Schmidt III (Christine Price), Thomas (Holly) Schmidt, Roberta Schmidt (Tom Grunwell), Alessandra Schmidt Cooper, 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, siblings Delores (Robert) Kaulbach, Paul (Sue) Schmidt and Philomena (Chris) Cowan, many nieces and nephews, many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother Gerald Schmidt, sisters Karen (Clark) Schmidt, Julie (Gutowski) Schmidt and Rita Schmidt. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 3680 S. Washington Road, Saginaw MI. The family will receive friends at church prior to the service from 10 AM - 11 AM.
