Duane, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Ascension St Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw. He was 80 years old. Ronald Duane Kinne, Sr. was born September 21, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Clyde and Vada (Hudson) Kinne. He graduated from Saginaw High School in 1959 and married Janet Jean Miller in 1961. Duane honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Franklin D. Roosevelt with tours in the Mediterranean Sea, Africa, and Cuba. Duane was a faithful member of Bridgeport Community Church. After retirement, he served as crew leader at Habitat for Humanity of Saginaw. He will forever be remembered for his love of family, friends, outdoor activities, and his unforgettable red and white polka dot hat.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Janet Kinne after 53 years of marriage. Surviving are his son, Ron (Christine) Kinne, Jr. of Livonia; daughter, Kim (Mark) Groulx of Bridgeport; daughter, Jodi (Chris) Wenzel of Saginaw and Missy (Jim) Herline of Freeland; granddaughter, Ashley (Chris) Groulx of Mt. Morris; grandson, Justin (Lauren) Herline of Midland; granddaughter, Kaylee (Nick) Warner of Spring Lake; grandson, Nate (Becca) Herline of Houghton Lake; grandson, Sam Kinne and granddaughter Delaney Kinne of Livonia; granddaughter Myah Wenzel of Saginaw; great-grandson, Lane Gaffield of Mt. Morris; many extended family and friends. A memorial service will take place when it is safe and appropriate to gather with friends and family to celebrate Duane’s life.
