Obituary of Karen Estelle McClelland

McClelland, Karen Bay City, MI Karen Estelle McClelland passed away on December 21, 2020 at the age of 73. She was born August 24, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Carl J. Leistner and Esther L. Ott Leistner. She studied art at Delta College and loved painting, drawing and discussing art. She was among the first art instructors at Do-Art Studio and Gallery were she lovingly taught those with disabilities how to draw, paint, sculpt, craft and fold origami. She enjoyed helping with activities at Pine Towers in Bay City, MI where she lived. She helped with activities such as the Christmas Bazaar and themed dinners and parties. She also loved reading her Bible and talking about her family and its history. She is survived by a daughter, Paula Pardel; a son, Seann McClelland; two grandchildren, Sam Pardel and Abigail Pardel; a sister, Suzanne Leistner; and a nephew, Joseph Lapage. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Cremation Society of Mid-Michigan for their caring support of Karen and her family. Due to the current pandemic, a private memorial and life celebration will be held at a later date.
