Eargle, William Gregg
(formerly of Royal Arkansas)
Gregg Eargle, age 58, passed away on January 1, 2021. He was born in Freeport, Texas, on February 4, 1962, to the late William Garnett Eargle and Nancy Ann (Harrison) Eargle. Born in Texas and having lived in Oklahoma, Ohio and Michigan, Gregg spent the last 30 years of his life in the Hot Springs, Arkansas area. Gregg was the company manager and chief tech for Harp Security Consultants for nearly 30 years. He was a very private person who would not boast or desire to be in the spotlight, but would rather do works of kindness and consideration in private with no recognition. Gregg was known to put others before himself in simple ways such as working Thanksgivings and Christmases so that his co-workers with families could enjoy their time at home.
Gregg dedicated his spare time across 35 years serving his various communities through law enforcement and public safety. In his own words in his application to the Fountain Lake Marshall’s Office, his desire was to dedicate himself “To serve the community in a positive and professional manner and to protect those that can’t protect themselves.” Gregg served in the Fountain Lake Marshall’s Office, Arkansas; Garland County Sheriff’s Department, Arkansas; Bay County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan; Flint Police Department, Michigan; and as a licensed EMT in Bay County, Michigan.
Gregg was also a certified Master Mechanic in all eight ASE areas. He loved the mountains, lakes and woods, spending time hunting, camping, scuba diving, and on hobby mechanics projects, as well as spending time with his rescue dogs. He had such a big heart for wildlife that he was known for taking in small abandoned animals too, including raccoons and a bobcat as well as any dog he’d find. Gregg was known for his wonderful, sarcastic sense of humor which remained with him even throughout his long illness.
Gregg is survived by his sister Kimberly Ann Eargle (Albert J.) Gouin; niece Anndee Elizabeth Gouin (Christopher) Dennehy; nephew Nathan C. Gouin; niece Katrina N. Gouin (Chris) Griffin; as well as 3 grandnephews and 1 grandniece; many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Gregg is predeceased by his mother Nancy Ann Harrison Eargle (2002), father William Garnett Eargle (2011), and sister Kristi Dee Eargle (1979).
A Life Celebration and a private interment will be held at a later date. Interment will take place in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project, a favorite charity of Gregg’s.
