Gary Rau, 72 of Beal City, passed away on January 6, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Gary was born on April 23, 1948 son of Bernard Joseph and Marjorie Agnes Rau. Gary graduated in 1966 from Beal City High school and attended Ferris State University after. He never left the area and made a fulfilling life for himself and the people he loved. He worked at Strauss’s Slaughterhouse to finance his good times. After his wild streak toned down, he began working at Morbark Industries where he spent the majority of his career. He married his best friend Linda Forshee on July 16, 1994 at their home on Lake Isabella where they spent 26 years enjoying family and lake life. He had a passion for golfing, coaching, grilling, fishing and especially hunting at Nubby Pines. He lived his life through his grandkids Nicholas and Payton Pace. He spent numerous hours sharing his life experiences with them instructing them on what NOT to do. They are forever grateful for the impact he had on their lives.
Bowdy will be deeply missed by his wife, stepdaughter Jennifer Pace, grandkids, siblings, Jan (Barry) Kirkpatrick, Bob (Mary) Rau, Jack (Barbara) Rau, Sue (Randy) Stratton, Barbie (Kurt) Mirandette, Karen Patterson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A private service will be held at St. Joseph the Worker Church following cremation.
