Obituary of Julianne Sue Peace

Julianne Sue (Young) Peace of Mount Pleasant, MI died on January 26, 2021. Julie was born in Albion, Michigan on April 9, 1950, the fourth daughter of the late Charles H. (Bob) and Verl (Marsh) Young of Albion. She graduated from Albion High School (’68) and from Central Michigan University (’72, BS and ’81 MA) with degrees in Business Education. She went on to teach high school and middle school for 36 years while raising her family and laughing with her friends and siblings. Her retirement came early when she fell ill and she turned to fighting cancer with unceasing strength, with her loving husband by her side. With her quiet strength, she was our hero. She enjoyed time with her friends and family at her peaceful place in Traverse City, MI and loved watching her grandchildren play on the beach. She was an incredibly gentle soul who radiated kindness and grace, making everyone around her feel seen, cared for and loved completely. Julie is survived by her husband, Timothy Peace, of Mount Pleasant whom she met in Sunday school at age three. They went on to be high school sweethearts, marrying in 1973. She is also survived by her children, Brian (Jessica) Peace and Megan (Marcus) Peace; grandchildren Louie, Lola, Francesca and Mason; and her siblings, Marsha (David), Cynthia, Barry (Debbie).
