Obituary of Betty Jane Long

Betty Jane Long, age 85, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 30, 2021following a lengthy illness. She was born to Leo and Genevieve Tomczak on October 9, 1935 in Bay City, MI. Betty is survived by her three children, Cindy Long of Bay City, Randy Talaga of Bay City, and Sandy (Art) Stewart of Sheboygan, WI; her 6 grandchildren, Steve Meylan, Lisa Stewart, Kim (Al) McBroom, Tyson McCormick, Ryann McCormick, and Jessica (Emmielito) Elnar; five great grandchildren; her brother, Leo (Marlene) Tomczak; nephews, Leo and Mark Tomczak; and her beloved dog, Leoush. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Enick Holysko; her daughter, Jane Talaga; and her first husband, Robert Talaga. Betty enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, being around family, having fun, and laughing. She enjoyed working in the garden and feeding the birds and squirrels. She loved animals and would often “adopt” the wildlife in her yard. Betty was a devout Christian and was a member of Old Town Christian Outreach Center.
