Obituary of Nancy Phylis Stack

Stack, Nancy Phylis (Crane, Crego) Gladwin, MI. Nancy, age 77, died January 30, 2021 at Woodland Hospice House after battling lung cancer. She was born in Flint Michigan, July 22, 1943 to the late Philip Oscar and Ruby Ellen (Daniels) Crane. Nancy was a 1961 graduate of Fenton High School. She worked as a cashier at Don's Drugs, Taylor Hardware of Fenton, and Rite Aid and The Prescription Shoppe of Gladwin. She also worked as a nurse's aide at Fenton Extended Care of Fenton and Smith Adult Foster Care of Gladwin among others. She was active in Parents Without Partners, Compassionate Care, and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #3243. She enjoyed true crime shows, a good puzzle, and scratch off tickets. She also played the organ and the accordian and was a hell of a bowler. She is survived by her son, Ronald (Rebecca); her grandchildren, Brody (17) and Sanibel (13); brother, Mark (Evelyn) Crane; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her family, Nancy is survived by her lifelong friends, Norma Bidelman and Mary Ann Patton; and many other Fenton & Gladwin area friends who appreciated her willingness to always lend a hand. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Stack; her sister, Sarah (Anderson); and her brothers, Allen and Philip Crane. Her last words were, "I'm coming, mom... I'm getting my shoes on..." When conditions allow, the family will plan a gathering. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Gladwin Council on Aging, 215 S. Antler St., Gladwin MI 48624.
