Obituary of James Richard Johnston

Johnston, James “Jimmy” Auburn, Michigan (formerly of Pinconning) Jimmy passed away suddenly on March 19, 2021 at McLaren Bay Region Medical center after a brief illness. He was born in Bay City, January 25, 1969 to Mary Lee (Compeau) Johnston and the late George Johnston, in Bay City. James enjoyed car racing, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his son and friends. He is survived by his beloved son, Jesse; his mother, Mary Lee; sister, Melissa; friends, Blaine and Ray; uncles and aunts, Richard (Betty) Compeau, Leona (Jerry) Harrow, Carole Gromaski, Charlotte Krawczyk, June (Arnold) Wilson, and Tina Bergeron. He was predeceased by his father, George Johnston; grandparents, Lester & Ida Johnston and Clifford & Elaine Compeau; uncles, Tom Dean, Bernard Gromaski, Leonard Krawczyk, and Michael Bergeron; and aunt, Mary Sweet. A Memorial Mass will be held on April 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Parish Pinconning, Michigan. Individuals are to arrive at Holy Trinity Church no sooner than 10:45 a.m. and it is requested that masks be worn while inside the church. Interment to follow at St. Michael Cemetery with family at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Pinconning Food Pantry or St. Michaels School.
