Obituary of Sandra Joann Klass

Sandra Joann Klass, age 78 years, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully Saturday morning, April 3, 2021 at Symphony Tri-Cities. She was born on January 28, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Geraldine (Brissette) DeLoughary. Sandra was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and Delta college. On May 15, 1965 she married John Edward Klass of Bay City, moved to Kawkawlin and together they have been a family for over 55 years. Sandra was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Kawkawlin. She had a long career in various accounting roles including her retirement from Dresco Machining & Fabrication, and from Kawkawlin Township where she served as the treasurer for over 18 years. She was always very active with crafts and in her later years thoroughly enjoyed spending time working in her flower gardens. Surviving family include her husband, John; sons John T (Judi) and Jeff (Melissa); grandchildren, Curtis, Callee, Hailey, Connor, Casey, Jason, and Emily; brother Thomas C (Sandra) DeLoughary; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her daughter and best friend Julie Ann, and her brother Paul DeLoughary. Sandra will also be remembered by Jennifer Sell, who has been like an adopted daughter to her. The family would like to thank the staffs at McLaren Bay City and Symphony Tri-Cities for the support and care given. A private mass will be celebrated at a later date for family and close friends.
