Susan Wegner

Obituary of Susan Kay Wegner

Susan Kay (Crandall) Wegner, 58 of Saginaw, Michigan passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday April 21, 2021 after a long battle with breast cancer. She was a woman of strong faith and is now home with her savior, Jesus Christ in heaven along with many loved ones that have passed. Susan was born in Bay City, Michigan on March 28, 1963 to Charles and Lorraine (Gornowicz) Crandall. Susan graduated from T. L. Handy High School, class of 1981 and attended Bayshire Beauty Academy. She worked as a beautician and also loved working in her greenhouses where she grew many gorgeous flowers. She crocheted so many beautiful afghans that she gifted to everyone she knew. A favorite memory of many were the annual Hay Rides she used to host at her farm. She loved spending time with loved ones and welcomed anyone into her home with open arms and made sure they never left hungry. Most importantly she loved her kids and all of her 'adopted' kids. She truly enjoyed spreading God’s word, helping others in any way that she could, and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren (and her fur grand-dog, Tucker). She will be greatly missed by all who met her. Susan is survived by her fiancé and best friend, Gerald Melton who cared deeply for her and was by her side until the very end. She is also survived by her parents: Lorraine and Charles Crandall. Children: Sara and (Nathen) Norman (Grandchildren: Rozalyn, Amelia, and Eli); Jennifer and (Kevin) Donaldson; Christopher and (Brittanie) Wegner; Sisters: Lorraine Crandall Jeske; Nancy and (Thomas) Hollerback; Jeanne and (Roland) Townsend along with many nieces and nephews and other extended family. She also was loved and cared for in the end by her ‘bonus’ daughter Nicole Prieur. Covid-19 is continuing to require social distancing. So, the family has planned a drive by memorial for those who would like to share memories and give any condolences. Processional route is starting from N Michigan Rd in Carrollton and turning down Schust Rd towards Zilwaukee. Family will gather in front of a private residence at 1215 Schust Rd Saginaw, MI 48604 to acknowledge any passerby’s at the end of the driveway. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please write any special memories of Susie in a card. If unable to attend please send cards with memories to the given address. This will occur on Friday April 23rd from 5pm-7pm rain or shine. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice (specifically nurses Nicole and Kimberly) and the many family and friends that helped in the end.
