Obituary of Donna Shirley Wascher
Donna Shirley Wascher left this earth April 27, 2021, gently passing into the waiting arms of her husband Harold and daughters Jeanie, Cheryl and Bonnie. Donna was born June 19,1930 to Edward and Mildred Zimmerman in Saginaw MI.
Donna married Harold Wascher on January 8, 1955 and enjoyed more than 40 years of adventure together, including many years at their vacation home in East Tawas. Their union would add five children to the family they created. Cheryl, Ronald, twins Connie and Bonnie, and Donna H. who was nicknamed “Sammy”.
Family was very special to her and she adored Harold’s family and loved spending holidays and time up north. She was the last of her Zimmerman family. Passing before her were, her parents, her brother Jack (Jane) Zimmerman and sisters Millie (Jim) Haas and Sandy (Ron) Trelour. She loved all her nieces and nephews. Special to her were her nephew Jim Haas and niece & nephew Patsy and Leroy Lash.
Donna leaves her children; Ronald (Pamela) Wascher, Connie (Neal) Cleveland and Sammy Wascher; grandchildren, James Love, Amy (Darryl) Johnson, Amanda Wascher and Josh Dittmar, Ronald G. (Tillie) Wascher, Dan (Sandy) Rackley, Donna (Justin) Humber, Jennifer Rackley, Tim Jendry and Matthew (Jennifer) Jendry, and Rachel Baker; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her extended family Joe Caccippo and special friends, Shirley, Julie and Jim Brown and Fran Varney. She also leaves her beloved dogs, Cricket and Dakota.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harold; and daughters, Jeanie, Cheryl and Bonnie; a grandson, Baby Wascher; her parents; and brother and sisters.
She was a feisty fun filled friend and a mom who provided her family with the best of everything. She was always finding ways to help others. She will be missed by many and as she said it, “Boy that time went fast but we did have some good times”.
