Obituary of Janet Carol Lindsey

Janet Carol Lindsey Born August 21, 1954 – Passed May 5, 2021 Janet Lindsey was a lifetime resident of the Eaton Rapids/Mason Area. She passed away May 5, 2021 due to complications from severe heart and kidney disease. She was blessed with many extra years in her life by receiving a heart transplant at University of Michigan Heart Hospital, October 7, 2007. Janet was also blessed with a kidney from her sister Tina Fatheree, February 9, 2009. Janet never gave up, even with many health issues she was a fighter to the very end of her life. Janet worked at General Motors for many years and after early retirement, became a Bus Driver for the Mason School District. She was a member of the Mason Sycamore Creek Garden Club, she loved to be busy playing cards, bingo or doing craft projects. She was always making things for family, friends and all the staff at Vista Springs Assisted Living who cared for her the last few years of her life. She loved watching NASCAR Racing and of course her beloved U of M Football and Basketball. She was a True Blue Wolverine fan and often watched rivalry games with her sister Sharon who is a True Sparty. She loved to go to garage sales, plant shopping, eating out, and of course Diet Coke. She loved Silver Lake and going to the beach. She also loved her Dog Petie. Janet’s greatest joy was her family, sons Kevin & Stacy Cataline, and Brian Cataline; grandchildren Drew, Colin Cataline and Mya Cataline. Janet was a loving mother, sister, and friend to many. She is survived by her sisters and brothers, Sharon (Dick) Rodgers, Theresa Strader, David (Teresa) Lindsey, Jeffrey Lindsey Sr., & Tina (Kurt) Fatheree. She had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews who loved and cherished her. They often called and facetimed her and brought her great joy and filled her life. She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore “Ted” & Edith Lindsey; and her grandparents. The family is planning a memorial service for a later date. The family requests those planning an expression of sympathy to consider Memorial Contributions to the University of Michigan Heart Transplant Program or a charity of the Donor’s choice.
