Obituary of Richard Allen Honeman

Honeman, Richard “Dick” Sanford, MI Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away at age 82 on Friday, June 3, 2022. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan on February 4, 1940, to the late William E. and Yula (LaPan) Honeman. Dick proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was employed by the C&O/CSX Railroad where he worked for 40 years and also served as their local union chairman. Dick was a kind, supportive, hardworking father who was always there for his family. He had many friends, loved to visit and a wonderful sense of humor, they had a chair always saved for him at the American Legion, he loved to golf, travel and visit the casino. Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife, Yvette (Bedell) Honeman, they were married on July 11, 1959 and were just short of celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary. His brothers, William (Barb) Honeman and John (Sharon) Honeman and his children, Lori (Rob) Webb, Linda (Greg) Vanherweg, Greg (Joni) Honeman, Lisa (Ritchie)Smith and Chris Honeman. Grandfather to, Meghan (Sam) Webb, Katie (Paul) Horning, Robin (Trent) Allen, Erin (Joe) Edwards, Kelly (Kyle) Kuchek, Rebekah (Michael) Kostal, Claire Honeman, Brooke Honeman, Schaefer Smith, and Abby Smith, a proud Great-grandfather of 8, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Steele, and brother George Honeman. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life service will be held in Dick's honor on Friday, June 17, 2022, from 1:00pm - 4:00pm, at the American Legion Post #443, 2080 N. Meridian Road, Sanford, MI 48657. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider making a donation to the Sanford American Legion Post#443, Veterans Fund.
