Obituary of Stephen Anthony Melfi

Please share a memory of Stephen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father, Stephen Anthony Melfi. He passed away peacefully and free of pain in his sleep at the age of 71 following a long battle with lung disease. He deeply appreciated the time his close friends and family spent with him shortly before he passed.

Stephen was a great man, a good man, and a bad man. But he was authentic. He was unique and he lived a life full of joy and deep hurt. He was a father to more than his own children, was loved by many and gave love freely. He loved cigarettes, cooking, cheating at cards, chaos and his friends and family most of all. He was an old battleship that fought his end and found a way to crack a smile and a few jokes hours before he passed.

He joins his parents, Martha and Alphonse, and his son, Michael in eternity. He is survived by his wife, Ann, his children Christopher, Anthony, Tracy, Christina, Amanda, Brandi, and David. Also surviving are his siblings Michael, Mary, Ann, Paul, Jane, and Pat, and grandchildren Emily, Francis, Mariah, Johnathan, Bradleigh, Madison, Lorna, CJ, Rebecca, and Kennedy, his Montana Ave family, Don and Barb, and many other incredibly wonderful family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, June 26, 2023, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan, with food, drinks, and sharing memories to follow.  To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com  Arrangements made with Cremation Society of Mid Michigan.
