Forever our cousin, friend and fearless leader. I can never explain how much you taught me in the last few years. So much grace, patience, forgiveness, love, and pure acceptance of the world.
I’m proud of your years and just wish for more.

Fred was more than a son, he was our buddy - who, when he was small, loved farming with dad even if it meant taking naps on the tractor. Always wanted to learn how to do things. He once went goose hunting, but he didn't have any bee bees in his shell cuz he shot but didn't get the goose. He used the ban saw mill one year, when he & Dee built their own sugar shack by themselves. He sure loved making maple syrup. Fred loved his family & people We don't think he ever disliked anyone. His favorite saying was "It is what it is". Rest in peace Son, till we meet again. Love ya Dad & Connie

While I offer my heartfelt condolences to Fred's family and countless friends, those words are not enough. We first met sometime back, when Fred in his capacity as a State Storage Tank Inspector began inspecting stations I was responsible for. Fred was as great an inspector as a person.... Honest, hard working, friendly, helpful ....it was no time at all and we were friends. All that he was going through, and he would call me often to check on MY issues.... I with so many are feeling empty and saddened, but he is in a much better place, without pain and suffering and leaves a legacy of kindness for others, love for family and the model of a truly good man. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten!

I met Fred while working at AmeriGas Propane. Although I was in the U.P. The Petoskey branch always made me feel like I was part of them. I was envious of the friendship they had with each other and how everyone seemed to truly enjoy each other’s company. Fred was a wonderful and talented man and I only knew a very small part of him. You are all blessed to have had him in your lives. Rest easy Fred.

Julie and I send our deepest sympathy to Dee and the family. I was honored to call Fred my friend. He was a very good man with a lot of talent. He was always so thoughtful of others and his work ethic was second to none. Anytime one was in need Fred would be the first one there. I will miss him and that big smile dearly. Godspeed my friend!

I remember going up North to go deer hunting at my brother farm ( those were the good times). I always leave my hunting gear there . That way I don't forget anything ( like that would happy) !! Back to my memory. As I was getting my gear around I was having a hard time finding my Knife. The one and only hunting knife my father had gotten me for my birthday. I ask Freddy if he had seen it. He didn't answer my at first. Finally he left the room only to return with his hands behind his back. He apologized for taking my knife. Stating he was just plying around with it. Gave it back to me and left the room. Then I pulled it out of the sheath. Deanna Joe explained to me Freddy had been out in the driveway KILLING ROCKS with my knife. So needless to say there was no skinning deer with that knife. That year anyway. I got it all fixed and still using it to this day. And think about Freddy every time !!!! Missing him already !!!!!
