Carpenter, Gary L

 Morrice, MI

Gary passed away on December 7, 2023 at 83 years young. He was born on May 12, 1940 to the late Orlo & Helen (Helms) Carpenter of Morrice Michigan. He served in the Army and was a life member of the VFW post # 4063. Gary enjoyed spending time with family cheering on the Spartans and Lions.

He loved golfing, shooting pool, hanging with his dog Lucy, and his family on his back patio (favorite room of the house) listening to outlaw country music, dancing and telling stories about uncle Denny Carpenter and uncle Ron Lezovich. No one grilled a Ribeye like he did!

He was preceded in death by his son, Curt; brothers, Jack and Robert; his granddaughter, Christina (Merriman) Starcher.

Gary is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Strickland) Carpenter, his children, Wendy (Paul) Pezoldt, Debbie (Robert) Sterba, Gary-Ray (Laurie) Carpenter, and Kelly (Larry) Hernandez; step-children, Ted (Mehida) Bowers, Jenny Middleton, and Howard Bowers; brothers Dennis Carpenter and Thomas Carpenter; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
