Growing up, our back doors faced each others across the street and his neighbors back yard. We spent a lot of time playing football and baseball on that street, until they paved it. Though I haven't seen Jim in many years, the smile is still the smile I remember form our youth. my sympathy goes out to his family.

In 1986 I went to work at Martin Chevrolet & met Jim. He taught me that I should sell conversion vans & pick up trucks. (and the reason why) He also told me never judge a book by it's cover, as he told me a story about the pig farmer nobody would wait on because he had pig crap on his boots. I can still hear him say, " Hello, I'm Jim Beson, how can I be of service today?" as he walked up to a potential customer with his hand extended and a big smile on his face. We could always count on him to man the popcorn machine. He was a kind, gentle soul & I consider myself lucky to have crossed paths with him in my life. I am sure that after all these years he probably forgot all about me, but I always remember how kind & helpful he was to me. I am sorry for your loss.

Jim and I went to school together, and seeing his picture brings back nothing but pleasant memories of a boy and man who cared for everyone he met. He is truly one of the most unforgettable people I've ever known. My sympathies to all who have suffered the loss of this great human being.

Jim always greeted us as long lost friends, always with a positive smile. He was also a very grateful friend and he loved the tomatoes we shared with him. We will miss that infectious smile and a greeting hug. May God comfort those left behind. Floyd and Fern DeVoe
