Obituary of Donald P. Foye

Foye, Donald P. Hemlock, MI Donald passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at the age of 81. He was born in Saginaw Michigan on April 17, 1934 to the late Joseph and Anna Mae (Kalahar) Foye. He married the former Mary Jacqueline Siler in Merrill Michigan on October 23, 1953. He was employed by Dow Chemical Physics Research Lab for over 40 years. He was a member of the Richland Twp Fire Department for over 25 years and very instrumental in building the baseball fields at Richland Township Park. He was also an usher at St. Marys Catholic Church in Hemlock. He loved his family, but his life was attending, watching, supporting, encouraging, and loving his grandchildren and sharing their joys by attending all of their events. He is survived by his wife Jackie; 4 children, Jerry (Pam) Foye of Hemlock, Brenda (Dan) Preuss of Hemlock, Charlene (Mark) Sherwood of Traverse City, Kathleen (Doug) Rohde of Hemlock; 6 grandchildren, Dana (Kraig) Sherman of Hemlock, Amy Preuss of Hemlock, Nicole Sherwood of St. Louis MO, Jack (Jolene) Sherwood of Chicago IL, Rachael Rohde of Grand Rapids, and Christopher Rohde of Hemlock; a great-grandson, Siler Sherman; 2 sisters and 2 brothers, Louise Wardin of Hemlock, Tom (Wanda) Foy of Merrill, Shirley Cates of Hemlock, Duane (Judy) Foye of Merrill; a sister-in-law, Lois Foy of Midland. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Patrick Foye; 2 brothers, James Foye and Harold Foy; brothers in law, Melvin Wardin, Donald Cates; sister in law, Mary Jean Foye. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM, Monday, September 28, 2015 at St. John the 23rd Parish, St. Marys Church of Hemlock, 151 Saint Marys Drive, Hemlock Michigan. The family will receive friends at church on Monday 9 AM until service time.
