Being in the cast of "Dracula" in 1958 started my relationship with Frank Serresseque. As a freshman, I was in awe, fear, and great admiration of him. He took this frightened, insecure little girl and taught her to be proud of who she was and to stand up and be heard! Thank you, Mr. Serresseque for giving me a backbone!!! I am still being "heard".
XOXOXO,

My heartfelt condolences to Mr Serresseque's entire family. He was my AP Senior English teacher 1966-67 and I felt extremely fortunate to have been in his class and to have been challenged by such an intelligent, enthusiastic person. I was so insecure in those days and thanks to Frank Serresseque I came out of that shell with increasing confidence and hope. I have thought of him often over the years and will never, ever forget the positive impact he has had in my life. Rest in eternal peace, Mr Serresseque.
Sincerely, Kathy (Neview) Fedewa

To my dear friend Pat, and to Paul and Janine,
I was deeply saddened when I heard of your loss. He was so debonnaire and confident that I could not wait to get to class and learn from his remarkable personality. He taught me the courage I needed to speak effectively and with confidence to people and I find myself still emulating his clever way with words and phrases.
He treated his students with great respect and made sure that we felt we were important and that out thoughts were important to him.
Pat, you and Frank are the only reasons I was able to finish high school, Frank gave me the gift of courage to speak with confidence, and you gave the gift of art and penmanship that use in my life daily. You and Frank have truly made me a better humane being and I will always love for that.
I hope your grief is short, and God's speed and grace be with you always.
Your loyal friend and student,
Jon T. McNeal

Dear Pat:
Please accept my sincere expression of sympathy at the death of your beloved husband Frank. I have many happy memories of time spent in your living room, listening to Frank play the grand piano, drinking wine, laughing and enjoying the time together. I also remember his presence on stage and the joy that he brought to his audiences.
My mother, Jacqueline, 94, is still living, but is in the end stages of alzheimers. Bob, (89) her husband and my stepfather, just died on June 6. I have the privilege and honor of taking care of both of them at home until their deaths.
My love to your son and daughter.
God bless you and hold you very close during this time.

Oh my, How I loved and admired Mr. Serresseque! I was at BCC during the late 50's and we became good friends. I was heavily into the music program in high school, both band and orchestra and also played the piano. He always called me "Zeke" because I am a Kentuckian. I also was in choir at Trinity Episcopal with him although he wasn't the director yet.
My heart goes out to Pat and the family and my prayers and sympathy.
Love,
Marian Reddick Stolz, Grand Ledge, MI

After nearly fifty years I still think of Frank on occasion. I was in his English class I believe. He made it varied and entertaining while still teaching us what we needed to know. He was a fine instructor and broadened our horizons. BCCHS was lucky to have him in the faculty.

In high school, I was almost a dropout. Mr. Serresseque was the first teacher that told me that I had some potential. Instead of just expecting to go to work at the Chevy plant, I got serious and went to college, and I ended up graduating with honors. I credit my success to Mr. Serresseque. In the late 1990's, I wrote to him and thanked him.

I have so many wonderful memories of Frank from the old days around the Bay City Players. He and my father were involved in many productions together and those formative years are what instilled in me a love of theater and production that burns strong to this day. Fond, fond memories of a class guy!

I was a student of his at Central High. He was one of my very favorite teachers. I remember one time he showed up in class and told this story. " I was driving to school and stopped at a red light, I looked over and saw a woman looking at me. I smiled and she was horrified." Why? He then smiled at us and we saw that he had two very realistic vampire fangs. what a hoot

I am from the class of 1973, Bay City Central. Only a handful of teachers had an impact on my life. The one that stood out the most was Frank Serresseque. He taught my humanities class. He didn't just teach it.... he brought the civilizations to life. I was enthralled on his lessons of ancient Egypt. It became a dream of mine to one day visit Egypt.
I also had the pleasure to be involved with the Bay City Players for a short time after High School. That afforded me the opportunity to see, hear, and enjoy his stage talents.
So, 30 years later, I made it to Cairo. I saw the Pyramids and Sphinx, also cruised down the Nile. When I was in the Museum of Antiquities, standing in awe before King Tuts treasures, I quietly said, "Thank You Mr. Serresseque, for igniting that spark in me so many years ago." "I am finally here."
You will truly be remembered, always.
