To the family of Mrs. Aumann and Mary Aumann, wife of deceased Marty Aumann.
I was so sorry, first of all to hear of Marty's passing . I worked for quite some time at Huron Behavior Health with Marty. He was a wonderful man; thoughtful caring and nice to work with. I met his wife Mary once and I have a dip recipe from Marty; he brought it into the office one day. I've spoken with Marty's Mom on the phone regarding her 2 wonderful cookie recipes(molasses-ginger and sugar). I have made them several times because my family loves them. It was a delite speaking with her on the phone.
My husband and I also lost our 49 year old son from a 4 month horrible with cancer on June 3, 2015. He also had brain cancer an it was in all his vital organs.
My sympathy to all of you and Bless You.
Sincerely,
Florence Sullivan

Dave, Janet and your entire family are in our prayers and have our sympathies. Our parents had many interactions while we were all growing up in Sebewaing, not the least of which was our mothers' longtime membership in that ladies' bridge club, during at least 30 years.
Our home was NEVER cleaned harder and more deeply than that one-time-a-year when my Mother hosted your Mom Lete and the rest of the bridge club ladies. Those are special memories.
But Lete's final gift to our late Mother, Gret Rummel, came at a very important time for us, back in 1989. Your Mom was the ultimate care-giver to her as she battled ovarian cancer and finally passed away in her own bed. Your Mother was always helpful, gracious, compassionate and helped guide my brother Jim and me in properly caring for her in the final months. To this day, I don't know how she could do that with such grace and composure. She set quite an example for us all.
Jim and I have also lost our brother, John, in 1997 and our father, Walt, in 2011. But parts of them all live on in us, as your dear Mother does in your family. She was a very special person. We are honored to have known her.
Remember the good times and hold dear the personal memories.
Mark and Sally Rummel, now of Fenton, MI
Jim and Tami Rummel, now of Spring Arbor, MI

I don't know how often a person personifies "brass tax" and warmth as genuinely as Aunt Lete. I'll never forget sitting with her along with my parents in the kitchen in Sebawaing. I'll never forget her rhubarb pie. She remembered that I loved it and delivered one to my wife and I on our honeymoon on Sand Point. I feel lucky to have known such a Spirit.

She was such a sweet lady! We loved talking with her in S. H. Long Term Care and I doing her hair. Doug loved learning all the history she had stored up in her magnificent mind about the Thuemmels in Port Austin and Point Aux Barques. Our deepest sympathy. I am a friend of one of Aleta's children, Jan. I remember getting cookies in college from Jan via Aleta. Jan telling us that she never measured, and yet they were all so good. Now when baking cookies it is still with me, as I measure everything, I often think of what Jan said of her Mom "never measuring". One of life's memories, that I cherish in every day life. I am grateful for the ones that have left us, and have left much to be remembered. Thanks for that everyday memory, Aleta.
