Obituary of Emma Jean Dundas
Emma Jean Dundas 82 passed away July 11, 2016 at The MidMichigan Medical Center. Emma Jean was born May 15, 1934 to the late Sylvester and Pauline (Altman) Cassaday and lived in Hope Michigan for most of her life. She graduated from Midland High School in 1952. On Feb. 7, 1953 she married Bruce Dundas, the love of her life. Emma Jean retired from the Dow Chemical Company after serving as a secretary in several departments including Quality Assurance and Relocation. She was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church. Emma Jean was a very dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed sewing and knitting and provided beautiful things for family and friends.
Emma Jean is survived by her husband Bruce of 63 years, her sons Kirk (Karen) Dundas, of Hope, and Keith (Peggy) Dundas of Harrison, daughters Kathy (Randy) Arthur of Hope, Karilyn (Thomas) Trent of Florida; Grand children Kyle, Stacey, Ryan, and Jamie Dundas, Angela (Julian) Aushana, Russell Arthur, Tyler (Claudia) Trent. Great Granddaughter Shaleise Vaughn. Three brothers and three sisters Bruce (Ellen) Cassaday of Colorado, Larry (Emily) Cassaday and Calvin (Janet) Cassaday of Arizona, Carol (Jim) Freeman of Beaverton, Connie (Don) Freeman of Florida, Ellen Devericks of Hope; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Emma Jean was preceded in death by an infant daughter Laurie Dundas.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will take place at 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday July 27, 2016 at the Hope United Methodist Church, 5278 N. Hope Road, Hope, Michigan 48628 . Emma Jean's family will receive friends prior to the memorial service from 4:00 - 5:00pm. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Hope United Methodist church.
