Obituary of Jerome "Uncle Jay" C. Smith

Smith, Jerome Bay City, Michigan Uncle Jay, our wonderful uncle 95 years of Bay City, entered into eternal life on 4/25/17 to be with his precious Lord and beloved sister Madeline and family. Uncle Jay as he was known to the family and friends was born 2/20/22. He was a very warm, kind hearted, compassionate and considerate soul in which he was a devoted care giver for his parents for 25 years. He graduated from U.C.L.A. with a bachelor's degree in Journalism. Uncle Jay had quite a green thumb he could keep a poinsettia beautiful for years. He also loved to read his bible everyday being a devout catholic. He was the family archive curator, his mind was incredible, he could remember when each member of the family was born, married etc. He was predeceased in death by his parents William Stachowicz and Minnie (Dominowski) Stachowicz, brothers, Edward and Jerry Smith, sisters, Alice Dittmer, Madeline Shann and Marie Vankowski. He is survived by numerous nephews and nieces along with 2 special nephews; Gary and Rosalie, and Jerry and Carolyn, and 2 special nieces Patty Marturano and Judy Perrault. We thank all the caring folks that work at Huron Woods nursing home for the very special care he received while there.
