I first met Rod and Betty when we all worked at the Ashley factory. Little did I know that six years later we would become neighbors. My girls grew up with these wonderful friends and talk about spending lots of fun times at their house. Rod, may you rest in piece and know you were such a positive influence on the girls. You will be missed!

Great obituary that captures Rod Sr. perfectly! When my daughter and Rod Jr. joined their lives he and Betty welcomed my husband and I into what can only be described as "the biggest small family ever". We enjoyed many wonderful celebrations in their home with great food and even greater family fun. Rod will be missed by all who knew him. We send thoughts and prayers to all who loved and were cared for by him. Gail Hale and Paris Copeman

To My Brother. I don't know where to start other than I will miss you. Many good times and fun, many arguments but always love and forgiveness. Having mom wondering why the porch roof was turning yellow, building tunnels in the hay loft, Halloween parties, deer hunting, card playing and family get togethers. I could write a book. I WILL MISS YOU BRO!

I am having a hard time with this, you are going to be missed by so many, and you were loved so very much. You used to be such a tease, and I can remember so many times that you teased me but the one that stands out the most and you never let me live it down was when we were camping in the woods and someone said popcorn sounded good so I went in the camper and put popcorn in the microwave, was so excited to be able to give them popcorn, but we were in the woods with no power so when I went back out they were all laughing because they knew that there was no power but Rod was laughing the hardest. Going to miss his humor, his love ya..hugs, etc. I love you Rod Mizer you were a wonderful friend, husband, father, brother, uncle. RIP my friend.
