Obituary of Stanley "Stan" Joseph Glysz

Stanley Joseph "Stan" Glysz, age 85, died Saturday, August 29, 2020 at McLaren Bay Special Care Hospital. He was born April 19, 1935 to the late Stanley and Harriet (Kopinski ) Glysz. On February 29, 1964, he married Carole Ricker who predeceased him on March 2, 2012. Some of his fondest memories were the ones he shared with her at their Houghton Lake cottage. Mr. Glysz was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and his loyal dog, Ollie. Surviving are his children, Howard 'Jay' Glysz of Bay City and Stephanie (Robert) Chatfield of Houghton Lake, Stanley J. Angers, Paulette Chavez, and Annette Farmer, all currently residents of Arizona; grandchildren, Olivia and Robert Chatfield; great-grandchild, Ava Rose; sister, Mary Ann (Ray) Maida; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Brittany Glysz and brother Martin (Etha) Glysz. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
