Obituary of Patrick A. Carney

Carney, Patrick Alfred Saginaw, Michigan Patrick A. Carney, age 76, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 after a lengthy battle with tonsil cancer. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan on June 21, 1944 to the late Alfred B. and Dorothy E. Carney. He moved to Rainbow City, Alabama, retiring from the Holston Company in 1999. He returned to his home state of Saginaw, Michigan in 2013. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Saginaw and enjoyed fishing, hunting, diving, traveling and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandson. Pat is survived by his children, Shannon (Jeff) Kostal of Saginaw, MI., Suzanne (Todd) Black of Daluca, GA., and Sean Bassett, of Burton, MI. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Kathryn Kostal, Emily (Eric) Miller, Madeline (Zachary) Weidman, Hunter Kostal, Hallie and Taylor Blak, Sean-Michael and Alexandra Bassett; great-grandson, Boyd Miller; great-granddaughter Sophia; several nieces and nephews; three very special friends, Dale and Donna Fish of Rainbow City, Alabama; and his dearest, lifelong friend, Sandra Graham. Pat was predeceased by his brothers, Harold, Charles and Donald Carney; and brothers-in-law, Dick Pincomb and Thomas Thebold. The family would like to thank Covenant VNA ~ Hospice Care for their constant support and care over the past few months, most specifically to the two nurses, Bri and Megan. The family will be honoring Patrick's wishes with a private gathering at a later time.
