Obituary of Wiley Decatur Holt
Wiley Decatur Holt, passed away peacefully at home, December 9, 2020, a few weeks shy of his 92nd birthday. His wife of 67 years, Winnie Mae Holt and their three children were at his side. He will be missed deeply, especially by his four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was born and raised in the rolling hills of northeastern Tennessee. Like so many of his generation, he migrated north to Michigan to work in the auto factories. Following a detour into the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he returned to Michigan, worked at Chevrolet Manufacturing in Flint, and eventually retired after 30 years of service. In 1971 he moved his family out of the city and into a house he built, literally, on a 30-acre farm near Byron, Michigan. He remained there until his passing. Wiley was a Free Mason lifetime member of the Morning Star Lodge #556 F. &A. M in Swartz Creek, Michigan.
