Obituary of Garnet Mae Whaley

Whaley, Garnet Mae Saginaw, MI Garnet passed away on March 21, 2021, at the age of 83. She was born in Midland on November 30, 1937 to the late Louis and Nelly Trudell. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and Great Lakes Pace, and retired from the Saginaw County Health Department at the age of 72. She enjoyed her family, spending time with loved ones, including friends that she considered as family, road trips, vacations, entertainment, home improvement shows, church, being in God’s word, and joining along in any activity going on. Garnet will be remembered for her genuine love toward everyone she knew. She is survived by her sisters, Janet (Dick) Messersmith, Mavis Behmlander, Sharon (Woody) Raymond, Marsha (Dave) Piper, Connie Trudell, Cathy Brandt, Debbie Trudell, and Vicky (Randy) Bigford; brothers, Dennis Trudell and Mickey Trudell; several nieces and nephews; her sons, Kevin (Mary) Schroeder, and Keith Schroeder; daughter-in-law, Diane Schroeder; granddaughters, Melanie (Ryan) Rattray, and Stacey (Tom) Lang; grandson, Ron Eastman; great grandchildren, Alexander Rattray, Onnalise Rattray, Vivian Rattray, Shyann Berg, Cherish (Mike) Kuhn, Karissa Lang, Isabel Eastman, Alexis Eastman, and Kyle Eastman; and great-great-grandchild, Chance Kuhn. She was predeceased by her sisters, Lois Trudell, Shirley Trudell, Phillis Trudell, Virginia Badour; brothers, Phillip Trudell, Ricky Dean Trudell, Robert Trudell, Gene Trudell; and son, Paul Schroeder. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Avenue, Saginaw MI 48602, with Pastor Matt Hauser officiating.
