I remember how kind and outgoing Mr. Fitzpatrick was. He would always come up and ask me questions or talk to me and would genuinely listen to what I had to say even as a kid.
One of the memories that I have is sleeping over the first time. We got home late so it was dark and when I woke up he was already out on the pond with a shovel clearing the snow off for us to skate on the rest of the day. Countless other memories at all the games and tournaments too!
He will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to the whole family!

I have so many fond memory of Mr Fitzpatrick. From the many days/nights at the rink and tournaments, to going over their house for sleepovers and watching Bowl games. He was always so kind and had a smile on his face. You could tell he loved watching and being a part of Chad’s hockey life, but also the lives of the other families on the team. He’s going to be greatly missed!
Thoughts and prayers to you all!!

So many memories of Denny! Sitting in the hallway talking while the boys slept at hockey tournaments. A hockey party at the house where we played a game of match where the prizes were a hundred grand which turned out to be a candy bar! I remember when Amanda and I were at the Masonic Temple to see a show and at intermission we turned around and Denny and Carol were sitting right behind us. Hadn't seen him in a long time and it was good to see he was doing so well. I'm so glad I got to see him at the last hockey tournament with the old team. Just hard to believe all the "boys" were now men! Denny was a wonderful, kind, caring man. We will miss him.

I have so many memories as a kid with Mr. Fitzpatrick most of which took place at his house. From riding dirt bikes, three wheelers, snowmobiling, or just hanging out, he always made sure I was comfortable and felt like I was at home. One memory in particular that I remember, Chad and I were riding three wheelers around the barn outback behind the house. Looking back, we must have rode around that barn hundreds of times, creating deep ruts in the driveway. instead of getting mad Mr. Fitzpatrick laughed about it and told me every time he drove over the deep ruts he thought of me. He was such a kind hearted easy-going man. The years of hockey tournaments have given me endless memories, too many to remember. Thanksgiving dinners in hotel rooms, team parties and traveling long-distances to name a few. He and my dad spent many hours watching us on the ice. Memories that will last a lifetime. I am so thankful we were able to reconnect years later at the “old nats” tournament. He will be missed but I am so thankful to have known him and for all of the memories.

- [ ] I would always call my grandpa before or after my games when I was younger and as I grew up. Grandpas favorite sport was football and he even play it in college so when he found out I was playing in the 4th grade he was excited to come see me play. He lived in Detroit at the time so he couldn’t make a lot of my games, but he did his best to keep track of all my games. Before one of my football games I called him not knowing he was going to be there and he explained the touchdown I was going to get. He said that I was gonna get the handoff to the right and juke the linebacker then take run along the sideline all the way to the end zone. Believe it or not, I got the handoff to the right, juked the linebacker, and ran along the sideline all the way to the end zone. After the game giving a hug meant a lot to him and at the time I wasn’t old enough to realize how much things like that meant to me. I’m blessed to have had such a supportive grandpa in my life and I know it meant a lot to him too. He loved sports and I loved talking to him about my accomplishments. I will never forget all the memories we had together and how lucky I was to have such an involved grandpa in my life.

Every time I called him and the way his voice would sound when he heard your voice. His eyes smiled all the time especially when he heard how one of the kids had done at their game. Always letting us know how important we were to him. Love you Denny, you will always be a big part of our lives.
